Dodge Street in West Richland temporarily closed due to fire at ServiceMaster Restore building

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – UPDATE 11:23 p.m.

According to the West Richland Police Department, Dodge Street is now reopened.

UPDATE 6:53 p.m.

According to Chief Paul Carlyle from Benton County Fire District 4, crews contained the fire in the warehouse at 6:53 p.m.

Dodge Street will remain closed as crews are mopping up.

Power was shut off to surrounding homes in response to the fire but was restored by Benton PUD.

According to Carlyle, the building is destroyed.

The cause is unknown and under investigation by the West Richland Fire Marshal.

UPDATE 6:08 p.m.

According to Chief Paul Carlyle, the fire is burning in a warehouse at ServiceMaster Restore.

Carlyle says the fire is burning furniture restoration chemicals, however they are sealed off and not a danger to the public.

The roof of the warehouse is expected to collapse from the inside as the fire continues to burn, according to Carlyle.
