PASCO, Wash.-A townhall-style discussion on the Week Without Driving initiative is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Cafe con Arte in downtown Pasco.
The discussion is for those interested in participating or connecting with others taking part in the initiative, according to a Ben Franklin Transit social media post.
The Week Without Driving Challenge was created so that policy makers, elected leaders and transportation officials could understand the barriers experienced by nondrivers in accessing communities, according to Disability Rights Washington.
During the challenge, which runs rom Sept. 30-Oct. 6, people are encouraged to try different modes of transportation other than driving.
Disability advocates and elected officials will address improving transportation options for non-drivers at the conversation, according to the BFT.
Cafe con Arte is located at 430 W. Columbia Street in Pasco.
