KENNEWICK, Wash. – KNDU is learning new information on the resignation of Kennewick’s mayor.
In an interview from March 2023 between Kennewick Police Department detectives and McKay, the former mayor spoke about his visits to massage parlors in which he claims employees offered him sexual services. KNDU received the interview through a public records request.
McKay said in the interview that his reasoning for going to various parlors was to figure out where sexual services were being offered to prevent human trafficking.
Detectives went on to ask McKay if any cameras present in the parlors would show him, to which he replied with “just happy ending, not the full on.”
KNDU reached out to the Benton County prosecutor to ask if they planned to charge McKay. According to Benton County Prosecutor Eric Eisinger, the county cannot review the case due to a conflict of interest, since they say McKay was a donor to Eisinger’s campaign. Eisinger says McKay donated at least $1,000 to his campaign.
Eisinger says the case was handed over to Pierce County Prosecutor Mary Robnett who has full authority over the case and will decide whether to charge McKay.
KNDU is working to reach out to McKay for comment.
