BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – A stolen pickup truck was found near McNary Road on Monday, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO was initially called to McNary Road for a report of a collision, however found the truck abandoned and that it had crashed into a power pole.
The truck had been reported stolen from Finley over the last weekend. It had been pushed down a hillside towards the Columbia River before hitting the pole.
BCSO says crews from Bonneville Power Administration arrived and started fixing the power pole, which will take around tens of thousands of dollars to repair. The truck was also heavily damaged in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing for both the theft and the crash.
