EAST SELAH, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Health is working with the Yakima Health District to provide free PFAS testing for East Selah residents with home-raised eggs and meat.
To qualify, the resident must live in East Selah or West Plains, have PFAS in their water higher than 4.0 ppt of PFOS, 4.0 ppt of PFOA and/or 10 ppt of PFHxS and have used the water to raise animals for personal consumption.
Those who sign up and qualify will get their test results and an individual consultation from the DOH. The consultation will include expert advice on safety of consuming meat and eggs exposed to PFAS.
