CUT BANK, Mont. – The Cut Bank Police Department issued an update regarding a shooting incident involving two juveniles in Cut Bank. The incident took place on October 11, 2024.
Officers were notified of a stolen car allegedly taken by two juvenile males. The vehicle was later found unoccupied in Cut Bank, leading to a search for the juveniles.
During the investigation, officials learned the juveniles had allegedly entered at least one other car and stole a handgun. While the juveniles were discovered in a resident’s yard, one of them fired the stolen gun, injuring the resident in the leg.
Another local resident encountered the shooter and managed to hold him at gunpoint until the arrival of law enforcement. Both juveniles were subsequently taken into custody by the officers.
The injured resident was hospitalized and is receiving treatment for his leg injury.
“I am grateful for prepared citizens and a good, collective response from our local law enforcement,” said Chief Schultz. “I hope for a speedy recovery for the man who was shot.”
The Glacier County Sheriff’s Office and Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services collaborated on the case. CBPD says their assistance was vital to resolving the situation and expressed appreciation for their time and efforts.
