PROSSER, Wash.-Prosser Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for credit card skimmers after one was recently discovered at the Love’s Travel Center.
According to a Prosser PD social media post, the card skimmer on a gas pump was found on a gas pump on March 19 and police are now warning people to be aware of the possibility of such devices on gas pumps and other payment devices and to report them immediately if found.
Card skimmer safety tips:
Look over the machine for anything that seems out of the ordinary before scanning your card.Use a digital wallet or contactless payment method.Pay inside when pumping gas.Be wary of non-bank ATMs.Monitor your bank accounts regularly for any suspicious activity.
