ORIGINAL COVERAGE

Westbound traffic on I-82 is being detoured due to a crash and a fuel spill at the Yakima River Bridge, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The detour starts at Exit 31 and heads through westbound US 12 around the crash.

A press release from the Washington State Patrol says lanes two and three are closed for an extended time for bridge repairs. The road was fully blocked for five and a half hours.

WSP says the blockage was caused by a semi truck hitting a guardrail on the bridge. No one was injured.
