TRI-CITIES, Wash.-The debate between U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse and Jerrod Sessler, Congressional candidates from Washington’s 4th district scheduled for Oct. 11 has been canceled.
NonStop Local planned to host the debate between the two Republican candidates in partnership with the Tri-City Herald before Sessler pulled out after a disagreement over whether a write-in candidate would be allowed to participate in the debate.
Rep. Newhouse is seeking re-election in the general election on Nov. 5 against Sessler, who has been endorsed by former President Trump.
NonStop Local can be seen over the air on channel 25-1 in the Tri-Cities and 23-1 in the Yakima area.
