Community meeting on downtown Yakima parking set for March 21

YAKIMA, Wash.-A community meeting on the ongoing downtown parking situation in Yakima is scheduled for Thursday, March 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall.

City of Yakima staff will present the history and preliminary recommendations regarding four City-owned parking lots in Downtown Yakima at the meeting, which will also air live on Y-PAC, Charter Spectrum Channel 194, and streamed live at https://www.yakimawa.gov/council/live-stream/.

After the presentation City staff will be available to talk with community members in group break-out sessions at City Hall about policy issues, maintenance and upgrades and enforcement of parking regulations in the four parking lots.

According to a Yakima press release on the meeting, public input will be incorporated into final recommendations regarding parking in the lots and final recommendations will be presented to City Council on March 26.

The City Council is expected to act on final recommendations regarding downtown parking in Yakima at its regular meeting on April 2.
