WALLA WALLA, Wash.-The Blue Mountain Humane Society’s annual 5K Dog Jog is set for May. 19 along Mill Creek.
The annual community event will combine fitness, fun and philanthropy, according to event organizers, with the BMHS adding a community fundraising element where participants can start their own fundraising pages and share personal stories.
According to the BMHS, the new community driven fundraising approach will allow supporters to use their personal networks to spread the word and raise funds for the BMHS.
How community-driven fundraising works:
Individual Initiative: Dog Jog participants set up their own fundraising pages.Personal Networks: Participants can reach out to friends, family, colleagues and their personal network to raise funds.Engagement: Participants work toward a common goal.Shared Stories: Participants share personal stories and what BMHS means to them to help raise funds.Support and Resources: BMHS provides support to help participants create and promote their fundraising pages.
The 10th Annual Dog Jog will start at the Walla Walla Community College Athletic Field parking lot and run along Mill Creek. Adoptable dogs and training resources will be available after the jog.
The Dog Jog is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Registration is $35 with a T-shirt and $25 without a shirt and can be completed online.
