TOPPENISH, Wash.-Families are invited to a Community Fire Safety Event at the Safe Haven Community Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 3.
The Toppenish Fire Department will be on hand at the event to teach families how to use fire extinguishers and the Red Cross will provide education and resources, according to a Safe Haven press release on the event.
Children will also have the chance to go through the EDITH house to learn what to do in case of a house fire and the Safe Haven Community Center will give away fire extinguishers and two smoke/carbon monoxide detectors to each family that attends the event.
The Safe Haven Community Center is located at 101 Lincoln Avenue in Toppenish.
