UNION GAP, Wash.-An open house about well water safety in the Lower Yakima Valley is set for May 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at La Cosecha in Sunnyside.
Hosted by the Departments of Ecology, Health and Agriculture, as well as Yakima County, the Yakima Health District and the South Yakima Conservation District, the event is free with door prizes, kids’ activities and tacos.
Attendees of the open house will learn if they qualify for free bottled water, free sampling of their well water or for a free water treatment system, according to an Ecology press release on the event.
The public will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts or concerns about nitrate levels in the water of the Yakima Valley with the participating agencies.
La Cosecha is located at 344 N. 11th Street in Sunnyside.
