TRI-CITIES, Wash.- HAPO Community Credit Union has partnered with KNDU and KNDO since 2009 for NonStop Local’s Coats for Kids Drive.
“It’s so necessary when it comes to keeping these kids in our community warm,” said HAPO employee, Stephanie Waechter. “We wanted to help in whatever way we could.”
KNDU has collected over 2500 coats so far, something Waechter said is important in the coming months.
“I know personally when I’m out and about I’ve seen young ones without coats walking to and from school,” said Waechter. “I think people should donate to ensure we keep people in our communities as warm as we can this winter.”
Along with Coats for Kids, HAPO Community Credit Union is getting involved in the fight against food insecurity this month. Through donation drives, fundraisers and volunteer opportunities.
