Classroom Makeover: Congratulations Mrs. Todd!

RICHLAND, Wash.- Caitlin Todd is a fourth grade teacher at Christ the King Catholic School. She was awarded October’s Classroom Makeover from WaFd Bank.

Mrs. Todd also works as the volleyball coach for Christ the King. She said she has been in catholic schools for most of her teaching career and even her own kids go to Christ the King.

“I love the community, the kids, getting to watch the kids grow from kindergarten to eighth grade and being able to be a part of that at different levels in the classroom and on the court,” said Todd.

Mrs. Todd shared she originally wanted to be a lawyer but decided to go back to school and received her Masters in teaching from Seattle Pacific University.

“I started coaching high school sports and decided there was no way I wanted to have a job where I don’t get to spend every day with these kids,” said Todd.

Mrs. Todd decided to share her reward with her partner teacher, Mrs. Katie Morton, across the hall who Todd says has welcomed her to fourth grade.

“I feel like it’s only fair now since sitting here to share it with her,” said Mrs. Todd.

Mrs. Todd plans to use the earnings to buy some novels for her classroom.

“Fourth grade does all of our ELA curriculum strictly through novel studies,” said Todd.

WaFd Bank believes in keeping our community strong through supporting students and teachers. Each month, WaFd and NonStop Local will choose a teacher from nominations by the community and present a check to their classroom. You can nominate a deserving teacher here.
