TRI-CITIES, Wash.- Sue Spets is a Spanish teacher at Tri-Cities Prep and has been teaching for 24 years. She was awarded April’s Classroom Makeover from Toyota of Tri-Cities because of her selfless dedication to her students.
Mrs. Spets teaches students because of her love of culture and language. She was born in the United States, but moved to Libya and lived there for seven years. She spent her childhood in Bucaramanga and then Bogota, Colombia. Once she graduated high school she moved back to the U.S. to go to college.
Mrs. Spets said she plans to use the money awarded to her on new books for her Spanish classes.
“I love the kids here at prep,” said Spets. “Watching them come in as freshmen and then leaving as seniors, there’s this just like this transformation.”
