PASCO, Wash. – Valari Benasutti is a first grade teacher at Rosalind Franklin STEM Elementary. She was awarded January’s Classroom Makeover from Toyota of Tri-Cities because of her leadership and engaging lessons.
Mrs. Benasutti said she plans to spend the money on new STEM equipment as well as a class favorite, “wobble stools”. Benasutti uses alternative seating for kids so her students can move while they learn.
“I love to be a tool in their lives at such a young age to teach them that school is fun,” said Benasutti.

Toyota of Tri-Cities believes that education is a strong component to a healthy community. There are teachers in the community who strive to go a step further than just opening the books and presenting the curriculum. They go above and beyond to ensure that their students get the most possible in a classroom setting. These are the Teachers that Toyota of Tri-Cities would like to honor. Each Month throughout the School year, a deserving Teacher is selected from nominations by the community and given a check for $250.00 to help in furthering the positive classroom experience.
