YAKIMA, Wash.- Yakima City officials invite residents to use the free Smart 911 phone application to enter personal information that first responders can access in emergencies.
According to Suncomm 911 Communications, 241 million calls are made to 911 every year. The Smart 911 app aims to help users save time in emergencies by inputting household and personal information.
Individuals with disabilities, special needs, pets, andgate or door codes can enter the information into a secure app to best equip first responders in a crisis. Additionally, Smart 911 will notify users of emergencies in their area.
The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
