A Chinese company failed to nail the landing of its test reusable rocket this week.

Deep Blue Aerospace successfully flew its Nebula-1 first-stage rocket booster on a high-altitude vertical flight.

However, the rocket landed heavily during the Sept. 22 test, causing it to end up on its side.

It is reported the rocket was less than two feet from touchdown when the Thunder-R1 engine shut down.

The company say the flight from the Deep Blue Aerospace Ejin Banner Spaceport in Inner Mongolia was an opportunity to learn.

They said: “After accumulating valuable experience this time, Deep Blue Aerospace firmly believes that in the near future, reusable rockets will soar into the sky and help China’s aerospace industry “increase in volume.””
