YAKIMA, Wash. – A car crashed into a store in Yakima on Wed., April 3 after the car’s driver experienced a medical issue, according to Yakima Police Department PIO Yvette Inzunza.
Inzunza says around 1:11 p.m., the driver was driving on North 16th Avenue towards Summitview Avenue when they reportedly had a medical issue. The driver clipped a car then lost control and crashed into Fiddlesticks.
Apart from the driver’s medical issue, no one was injured in the crash. The driver was not transported to a nearby hospital for the medical issue, according to Inzunza.
Fiddlesticks owner Michele Sink said the store was open at the time of the crash. She said the store primarily took external damage with some internal damage.
Sink says she is still assessing the damage to see when Fiddlesticks can reopen.
