A pet dog saved her owner family’s lives – after alerting them to a fire that broke out in their home.
Quick thinking’ pooch Jessie warned her sleeping owners to the smoke that was swiftly filling the house.
She quickly roused them into action – enabling them to escape the property unharmed.
Crews from Wadebridge Community Fire Station and Delabole Community Fire Station in Cornwall were called to New Polzeath shortly after 6.00 am this morning (May 30).
On arrival, they located an electric heater on fire within a cupboard.
The team said: “Thanks to Jessie’s quick thinking and protective instincts, the small fire was promptly dealt with and contained to the cupboard of origin before any significant damage was done.”
