RENTON, Wash.-A woman reported missing in February from the Seattle area has been found in a cemetery in Mexicali, Mexico.

Reyna Hernandez, 54, of Renton was reported missing by friends on Feb. 28. According to NBC News reporting on the case, authorities believe she went missing from her home two days before.

Police followed several leads and executed multiple search warrants, however, they were unable to locate Reyna.

According to Renton Police, Reyna’s disappearance is thought to have been a “domestic violence crime.”

Mexican authorities arrested a 61-year-old Renton man who is a suspect in the case on charges unrelated to Reyna’s disappearance and death, according to NBC’s reporting.

Renton PD reportedly contacted Mexican authorities about an unidentified body in the cemetery and were able to gather enough information to positively identify Reyna.

If it is determined that Reyna was killed and if she died in the U.S., then the suspect could be extradited, according to Renton Police.
