MISSOULA, Mont. – Mark Reinsel, an MSU alum and dedicated Bobcats fan, is living in what some might call “hostile territory.” Despite being surrounded by Griz fans in Missoula, Reinsel is happy with the state of his football team.

Reinsel, who spent his college years in Bozeman during the 1980s and 1990s, has returned to his hometown of Missoula. He appreciates the generally friendly interactions with Griz fans. “Once in a while people will look at me sideways… Other Bobcats fans will come up and give me a high five,” Reinsel said.

With the Bobcats currently undefeated, Reinsel is hopeful about the team’s prospects. He shared his thoughts on what it would mean if the team went all the way in the playoffs. “Boy… It would exceed my wildest expectations over the past decade even as our team has gotten better and better. I hope we can get over the hump and beat those Dakota schools and bring a trophy back to Montana,” he said.

Reinsel’s passion for the Bobcats is a family affair. His children hold MSU degrees, and his grandchildren are growing up as fans. He is also a member of the Five Valleys MSU Alumni Association, which connects Bobcats fans in the area.

Reinsel mentioned that he has not booked a trip to Frisco yet, but has bookmarked it for now.
