TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Drivers in the area will get an early Christmas present when the Blue Bridge is fully reopened on Monday, Dec. 23.
According to Scott Klepach with the Washington State Department of Transportation, the painting of the Blue Bridge, which started in Jan., is now done and regular single-lane closures will no longer be required.
Over the next few weeks crews will work on tidying things up on the bridge and there could still be some temporary delays or lane closures, however, those are not expected to last very long, according to Klepach.
Drivers will still see equipment in the area as the DOT is waiting for better weather to ship it back east.
