RICHLAND, Wash.-A public comment period for the Ben Franklin Transit’s 2024 service initiatives is now open and runs through November 9, with several opportunities for the community to participate.
The 2024 Annual Service Plan seeks to improve connectivity and meet rider demand according to a BFT press release.
“This Annual Service Plan strives to meet the community’s needs while focusing on inclusivity and providing value to all residents of the Tri-Cities,” said BFT General Manager Rachelle Glazier
BFT also conducted a Title VI Service Equity Analysis to limit any adverse impacts to minority or low-income individuals as a result of service changes. The public is also invited to comment on the equity analysis.
Changes to BFT’s 2024 annual service plan:
New routes 10 and 50.Adjustments to routes 25,67,123,170.Elimination of route 110 and the school tripper for 123.Enhanced bus schedules.CONNECT service adjustment to include pilot service to the airport and service to the Columbia Basin Veterans Center.

October 12: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kennewick branch of the Mid-Columbia Library at 1620 S. Union St. in Kennewick.October 18: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pasco Mid-Columbia Library at 1320 W. Hopkins St.October 23: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In person and virtual public hearing:
November 9: 6:00 p.m. during the regular BFT board meeting at the Benton County Administration Building.
