A two-hour flight from New York City is just long enough to grab a cat nap, and land rested and ready to explore Bermuda.

Tourists began returning to Bermuda in 2023 when COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. Visitors arriving by ship rose 30.5% and those arriving by air grew by 27.1%, according to the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA).

But to cement the revival of tourism even further, Bermuda took matters into their own hands and announced 2024 plans for nonstop flight service to Bermuda with additional direct flights to L.F. Wade International Airport. These flights are under three hours from many major United States cities.

The perfect three-day getaway filled with pink sand beaches, crystal cave explorations, snorkeling, cricket tournaments, tropical cocktails, and delicious food under the stars is closer than you think. It’s no surprise Bermuda was ranked one of the best summer vacation spots in the world for 2024 according to U.S. News.

Jamari Douglas, VP of Marketing, PR, and Communications at BTA says, “Early booking data shows a further increase in travel to the island this year. We look forward to reaching new markets, as well as continuing to welcome back our Bermuda loyalists. These flights provide travelers with quick and direct ease of access to Bermuda, offering a myriad of opportunities to come together and celebrate the joys, warmth, and beauty that the island has to offer.”

Many people mistakenly believe that Bermuda is part of the Caribbean but in fact, it is hundreds of miles north of the Bahamas in a beautiful stretch of the Atlantic about 650 miles east of North Carolina. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, Bermuda enjoys a temperate, sub-tropical climate ensuring mid-60s in the winter and mid-80s in the summer.

The island invites visitors to enjoy its culture, robust history, and many friendly and welcoming people while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.

What To Do With Three Days in Bermuda

After shuffling from the airport to Bermuda Center’s breathtaking sea views, your first stop should be the Swizzle Inn, Bermuda’s oldest pub. Enjoy a simple but delicious lunch served with the island’s national drink, the Rum Swizzle, created in the early 1900s.

Head to the Rosedon Hotel Bermuda for the perfect home base in the heart of Hamilton for all your Bermuda adventures. This iconic family-owned property boasts impeccably appointed rooms and exquisite attention to detail. Leave all your stress at home and relax in this quiet escape.

After your travel day, dinner at the Huckleberry Inn is the perfect antidote. Located in the historic main house of the Rosedon Hotel Bermuda, it takes its name from Bermuda-lover Mark Twain. Featuring fresh fruits and vegetables from their garden, they strive to create a culinary experience highlighting rich island offerings from land to sea.

After a restful night in your comfortable bed, head out to the Crystal Caves Tour or go beach hopping between Horseshoe Bay, Tobacco Bay, and Saint Catherine’s Beach. You’ll find plenty to do in between, from bike paths, museums and lush nature preserves.

You can grab lunch at Village Pantry or Wahoo’s Bistro and Patio Restaurant. I enjoyed a fresh kale and quinoa bowl with roasted parsnips, chickpeas, sprouts, pickled beets, and edamame covered in a fresh mango dressing. Everything there was delicious, and the vibe was wonderfully relaxing.

If you are more adventurous, plan a snorkel trip with Glass Bottom & Snorkel Excursion. You’ll enjoy seeing more than 300 shipwrecks that date back as far as the 1600s and sit anywhere from shoreline view down to as far as 70 feet in the turquoise Bermuda waters. Your entry includes the glass-bottom boat with a captain and crew, flotation noodles, snorkel gear, and, of course, a full-cash bar onboard. It’s the perfect recipe for a fantastic experience.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, don’t forget to stop by Blu Bar and Grill at the Belmont Hills Golf Course. Snag a table and enjoy breathtaking sunset views while digging into an unforgettable meal.

Cricket lovers can enjoy a County Games Cricket Match. You don’t have to be a pro; cricket newbies can equally enjoy the sport. A resort getaway is the perfect time to try your hand at something new.

Enjoy Tobacco Bay Beach and its incredible restaurant and bar. Exciting itinerary additions include its serene lagoon, beautiful rock formations, and outdoor eating amenities. From chairs and food to snorkel gear, drinks, and live music, you’ll want for nothing here.

Bermuda shows tourists with all schedules that we can still find time for a fun and relaxing vacation regardless of plans. This easily accessible spot is an amazing escape with elevated amenities and downright heavenly dining options. The only question: how fast can you pack?
