KENNEWICK, Wash.-The Benton-Franklin Fair Market Stock Auction brought in a record $1,368,834 this summer.
Four-hundred and nine animals were sold at the August 26 event to 244 businesses according to the Fair, with other individuals and companies contributing to specific exhibitors.
According to the Fair the Market Stock Auction is the largest youth livestock auction in Washington, with proceeds going to the youth exhibitors.
Individuals and local food producers purchased livestock at the auction and some buyers even chose to donate the locally-raised meat to the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission.
