BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-Benton and Franklin Counties will celebrate their 16th annual National Adoption Day on Nov. 22.
National Adoption Day is celebrated the Friday before Thanksgiving and the community is invited to the public event at the Benton County Courthouse at 3 p.m.
The Benton and Franklin Counties Adoption Day event will feature vendors and information regarding adoptions and the adoption process.
In Washington State there are currently over 1,000 children in foster care that are eligible for adoption, according to Benton County.
National Adoption Day works to raise awareness by celebrating children and adoptive families and to spread the work about the possibility of adopting, according to its website.
