BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – Residents of Benton County are reportedly receiving fraudulent checks in the mail by an unknown person, per the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO says residents who received one of the checks in the mail should neither cash it in, nor deposit it into their accounts.
Officials with BCSO notified companies that were associated with the check and advised them of the issue, which they have reported to their financial institution and local authorities.
