BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-The Benton County Board of Commissioners has officially recognized October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month by proclamation.
The County Commissioners made the proclamation at a meeting on October 3 to commemorate the 78th anniversary of NDEAM and to raise awareness in all citizens of the county.
As part of its proclamation Benton County is calling on all schools, employers and community organizations to join in the observance of NDEAM.
According to the Campaign for Disability Employment, NDEAM is a time to educate the general public about disability employment issues and celebrate the contributions of American workers with disabilities.
