WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Benton County Fire District 4 initiated its budget planning for 2025, involving the local community in the discussions.
Fire Chief Paul Carlyle says dozens of hours go into planning the annual budget and sets the direction for staffing, equipment and training.
The Board of Fire Commissioners invites residents to participate in public hearings scheduled for Oct. 17 and Nov. 7. These meetings will focus on revenue sources and will be held at Station 420 located at 2604 Bombing Range Rd., starting at 5:00 p.m.
“We value our community’s trust, so financial transparency is important,” said Chief Carlyle. “We want residents to be involved and informed about their fire district because we are here to serve them.”
Following the second hearing, the board will cast a vote to decide on the approval of the budget.
