BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-A Benton County Corrections Officer is being investigated for allegations of sexual misconduct.
According to Benton County, a female inmate reported the alleged misconduct to Corrections staff and the Corrections Officer was placed on administrative leave and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation.
BCSO Detectives arrested the suspect on March. 5. on suspicion of Custodial Sexual Misconduct in the 2nd Degree.
The BCSO’s investigation is ongoing and the results will be submitted to the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office for the consideration of charges when completed, according to a Benton County press release on the incident.
In addition to the criminal investigation, Benton County will conduct an internal investigation to ensure that all departmental policy was followed.
