RICHLAND, Wash. – The Ben Franklin Transit announced the hiring of its new CEO in a press release on Wednesday.

New BFT CEO Thomas Drozt had his contract unanimously approved by the BFT Board of Directors at a Tuesday special board meeting. He will start on Aug. 26, replacing Rachelle Glazier who resigned in March.

“I’m excited to bring my 25 years of transit experience to Ben Franklin Transit, where I aim to foster innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and build strong community connections,” said Drozt. “My goal is to drive forward-thinking solutions that improve service reliability, prioritize safety, and create a seamless transit experience for everyone. Together, we’ll not only meet today’s challenges but also set a new standard for the future of public transportation.”

Drozt started his career in transit as a bus operator and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the Deputy Chief at Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and General Manager at MV Transportation in Los Angeles.
