YAKIMA, Wash.-Yakima Valley Community College will host a behavioral health career panel from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 22.

The panel, in partnership with the Washington State Healthcare Authority, will offer information on how to start on a path to a career in behavioral health services, such as substance use disorder and mental health services.

There is a shortage of behavioral health professionals in Central Washington, with only one behavioral health worker for every 360 people in the state, according to a YVC press release on the forum.

YVC staff and HCA professionals will be at the panel to speak about behavioral health careers and the services they provide.

The Behavioral Health Career Forum will be held in room C of the Kaminski Conference Center, Building #38 on the YVC campus.

Attendees must RSVP for the forum by contacting Yajaira Perez at yajaira@quinnthomas.com or by calling 206-698-4754.
