How to reduce energy use during hot weather:
The Department of Energy recommends setting your thermostat at the highest possible temperature that you are able to remain comfortable in (The DOE recommends 78 degrees)Try not to use your washer, dryer or dishwasher during the hottest part of the dayUse ceiling fans when possibleKeep windows and blinds closed during the hottest parts of the dayUse your microwave or grill outside if possibleTurn off electrical appliances when not in useReplace the filters on your cooling systemHave a plan in place and know what to do if power goes outCheck on neighbors and elderly family members in the high heat
