Clear and mild tonight, lows in the mid 50s-low 60s. Sunny, breezy/windy (gusts 15-25 mph and locally 35 mph in the Kittitas Valley) and very warm with an elevated fire risk. Highs in the mid 80s-low 90s.
Heat Wave… A massive ridge of high pressure is building off the west coast and will move inland over the next couple of days. This will develop a blocking ridge of high pressure over the Pacific Northwest. By Friday a thermal trough will have moved north from the desert southwest sending our temperatures into the triple digits. We could even be flirting with record high temperatures this weekend – Yuck! Models are suggesting the heat will stick around through at least Friday, July 12!! Fire danger will remain elevated throughout the next seven days due to the heat, dry conditions and winds 10-15 mph.
