YAKIMA, Wash.-The Yakima Arboretum is hosting ArborFest on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
ArborFest is a free Washington State Arbor Day event and the Arboretum will be handing out over 500 trees for attendees who wish to plant them at home.
According to the Yakima Arboretum, ArborFest will include around 35 educational booths featuring arts, crafts and interactive exhibits. Children attendees will have the opportunity to earn stamps at each booth to earn a small prize.
Gardeners with the Yakima Arboretum will be on hand to help families choose the right tree for their yard and the Department of Health will provide free toy and soil testing to look for lead and arsenic.
The Yakima Area Arboretum is located at 1401 Arboretum Drive in Yakima.
