WAPATO, Wash.-The community is invited to the 41st Annual Cultural Unity Fair at Wapato Middle School on Thursday, March 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Cultural Unity Fair celebrates the diverse cultures of the Yakima Valley and will feature a variety of foods, including Indian fry bread, salmon, pansit, lumpia, tacos, cinnamon rolls, pizza, baklava and cheese zombies, according to a press release from the Wapato School District.
Tickets for the Cultural Unity Fair are $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and children. Tickets are on sale now at the Wapato Middle School Office located at 1309 Kateri Lane in Wapato from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Tickets will also be available at the door or by scanning the attached QR code.
Wapato’s Cultural Unity Fair began in 1982 when a group of teachers and school leaders came up with the idea to combat the perception, at the time, that gangs and violence dominated Wapato’s community, according to the district.
