TRI-CITIES, Wash.-The Tri-City Americans have traded defenseman Lukas Dragicevic to the Prince Albert Raiders.

“This was a difficult trade to make as Lukas has been with us for three years and has developed into a premier defenseman in the WHL,” said Ams GM Bob Tory. “However, Lukas requested a trade, and we accommodated his wishes. We think the players we have added improve our team and add valuable depth as well.”

Dragicevic was drafted fourth overall in the 2020 Prospects Draft by the Americans and played three season in the Tri-Cities. He was drafted by the Seattle Kraken in the 2023 NHL draft.

Along with Dragicevic, the Americans sent goalie Eric Kahl and a 2025 seventh-round pick to Prince Albert.

According to a press release on the trade, in exchange for Dragicevic, the Americans are getting defenseman Terrell Goldsmith, forward Grady Martin, goalie Nathan Preston and a 2025 third-round pick.

Goldsmith, a 6-foot-four, 215 pound defenseman was drafted 15th overall in the 2020 draft by Prince Albert and scored 30 points in 185 career games.

“Goldsmith is an elite shut-down defenseman who immediately improves our defensive-zone play,” said Tory. “He makes us a much harder team to play against.”
