It’s week two of the maiden voyage for Doctor Odyssey, and fans of the new medical drama are in for a change of pace when Thursday’s (October 3) new episode debuts on ABC. While we still don’t know whether there’s a big twist on the horizon, some details about what’s next are starting to come through.
This week, the newest episode is called “Singles Week,” which reflects the theme-cruise-of-the-week styling of The Odyssey, the ship at the center of the show. The logline for the episode reads, “It’s Singles Week on The Odyssey, and lust is in the air. As Max (Joshua Jackson), Tristan (Sean Teale), and Avery (Philippa Soo) navigate their relationship, the crew fends off advances from passengers. With rising desire and quickly spreading ailments, Max and the team rush to restore order.”
As we’ve already seen from the preview and teaser photos of the new episode, this one will be a guest star-studded affair indeed.

ABC previously revealed details about the episode after that (airing October 10), including the theme ahoy: For Episode 3, the theme will be “Plastic Surgery Week,” and the description reads, “Plastic Surgery Week on The Odyssey brings new faces and fresh features to be carefully maintained by the medical team. Meanwhile, when the owner’s wife comes on board, Capt. Massey (Don Johnson) must juggle charm and skillful dodging to sidestep her advances.”
Now, the fourth week’s episodic (airing October 17) theme has also been revealed. This time, it’ll be “Wellness Week,” which is described like so: “During a week dedicated to wellness, The Odyssey ironically finds itself overwhelmed by a surge of ailing patients. Meanwhile, Tristan’s new romance sparks jealousy, and Capt. Massey must bring the ship to safety in the midst of a hurricane.”
