YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.-An air quality alert was issued on Aug. 5 for all of Yakima County due to wildfires burning in the region.
The air quality alert includes the Yakama Nation and will be in place until further notice, according to the Official Fire Information page for the Retreat Fire burning near Naches.
Wildfire smoke from the Retreat Fire and other wildfires in the region could cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at times.
Smoke from fires to the north of Yakima County is expected to cause moderate to unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups across the region, according to the fire info page.
