This is the moment an aggressive magpie cracked a window by fiercely pecking at it.

Tenant Tammara-Lee Stuij, 38, initially didn’t think the magpie would cause any damage.

But every day for two weeks the bird returned seemingly targeting its reflection at the bottom bay window in her living room.

The daily visits became increasingly forceful until one day, it left a sizeable hole.

Tammara-Lee, a support worker from Port Willunga, Australia, said: “He’d arrive right at 7:10 am every morning and start pecking.

“At first, there was just a small crack, but he just kept coming back and tapping harder until he broke it.

“Somedays I’d run to shoo him away but some mornings I couldn’t be bothered getting out of my bed.”

After the window finally shattered, Tammara-Lee filed a maintenance request with her landlord, who repaired it the next day.

Tammara said: “I was shocked.

“I couldn’t believe a magpie that small could break the window.

“It’s funny because I’d always thought it would be a big storm to break the window – not a bird.”
