YAKIMA, Wash. – A.C. Davis High School senior basketball player Esmeralda Galindo was named WIAA Athlete of the Week on Monday, following the school’s win over the reigning state champions in the Round of 12.
Galindo scored 17 points in the game against Eastlake High School and picked up 10 rebounds to lead her team to a 59-54 win on Wed., Feb. 28.
Galindo also went 12-for-14 from the free throw line in the game. The team would later pick up a win against Kamiakin High School on Thu., Feb. 29 by a score of 59-48.
A.C. Davis would later lose to Gonzaga Prep 60-67 on Fri., March 1 and win the 3rd/5th matchup on Sat., March 2 over Sumner High School 70-67.
