Welcome to the pub stocking some of Britain’s most controversial booze – including Osama Bin Lager, Saddam’s Stout and In Cider.
The Coach & Horses in Billinghay, Lincs is run by Catherine Mitchell, 37 – whose husband Luke, 36, is the man behind Mitchell Brewing Co.
He started brewing three years ago, with the “fun” names following a year later.
Luke’s most popular range is called the Dictator – which has already proved to be a hit with drinkers.
Other names include Kim Jong Ale, Putin’s Porter and Orange Mussolini.
The Coach & Horses also stocks a more lewd range of drinks – with names like Berried In Cider, A Nice Pear In Cider, Hop In Cider Sloe and SexuALE.
When it comes to naming the beers, Luke allows each new member of staff to come up with a punchy new name.
And he says the drinks have generally been a hit, giving most punters a chuckle when they walk in.
He said: “The Dictator Range is the one that attracts people – that was supposed to end last year but it’s proved so popular so we’ve kept it going.
“If we can use controversial names to help and build the brewery higher then great.
“Truthfully everyone who tries our beer seems to like it.
“Nearly every staff member is ex-military and they all get to choose a new name.
“Osama Bin Lager has been the best seller – but Kim Jong Ale was the first we did.”
But not everyone is a fan of the controversial names after a recent TikTok video – now deleted – in which a visitor to the pub complained.
Luke said: “I heard about it and to be fair she handled it quite well and she just said it wasn’t for her.
“Although we were accused of being sexist, but the pub is a whole female workforce.”
A pint of Osama is £4.10, a Kim Jong is £3.20 and an In Cider is £4.
