PASCO, Wash. – Orion High School is set to welcome students next fall. This marks the addition of a new high school serving the Pasco area.
The Pasco School District, in collaboration with Fowler Construction, held a top out ceremony to place the final beam in the framework of the building. The ceremony signifies the completion of the school’s structural phase.
Planning Principal Seth Johnson shared that Orion High School will initially enroll only freshmen students for its first year.
“Each year after that… they will add another grade level until they are a nine through 12th grade high school,” Johnson said. The aim is to eventually accommodate upwards of 600 students.
The school’s design process had a regional focus on future employment needs. An emphasis was placed on health sciences, engineering and manufacturing.
“When we started the process of designing this high school, we were really intentional about working with our industry partners within the region,” Johnson explained.
Orion High School will exclusively serve students from Pasco. The institution aims to equip students with essential skills for both college and the workforce, Johnson emphasized.
