TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Life Flight Network is reminding drone pilots that the emergency service can’t land if civilian drones are in an accident area.

Life Flight Network was dispatched to the scene of a crash recently, but could not land due to a civilian operated drone flying over the crash site, according to a Life Flight social media post.

The patient ended up being transported by ground and the incident serves as an important reminder that it’s against the law to interfere with firefighting, emergency or law enforcement efforts with a drone.

According to Life Flight Network, drones pose a serious risk because helicopter pilots can’t communicate with them, which could lead to crashes.
