YAKIMA, Wash.-Fall Community Cleanup Days are planned for Yakima and Sunnyside on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Yakima’s Community Cleanup Day is scheduled for the Fiesta Foods parking lot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Presented by the Latino Community Fund of Washington State and the City of Yakima, residents will have the opportunity to drop off household garbage and yard waste.
Bagged or boxed household garbage and yard waste, including trimmings, clippings and branches up to four feet can be dropped off. Broken down cardboard boxes and newspapers will also be accepted and residents can drop off two tires.
According to a post from the City of Yakima, appliances, hazardous waste, concrete and demolition debris will not be accepted.
Fiesta Foods is located at 1008 E. Nob Hill Boulevard.
Sunnyside’s Community Cleanup Day is set for Central Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is free for Sunnyside residents and appliances, scrap metal, fence posts and wire will be accepted, however, no yard waste, commercial loads or batteries will be accepted.
