Yakima man shot in Union Gap, police searching for suspect

UNION GAP, Wash.-One person is in the hospital after an early morning shooting on Sept. 23.

Union Gap Police responded to shots fired around 2:20 a.m. near S. 7th Avenue and Whitman Street and found a Yakima man with multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, arm and abdomen, according to UGPD.

The victim was taken to Yakima Memorial Hospital for his injuries and is undergoing surgery, according to a press release on the shooting.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time and a suspect has not been identified or arrested.
