Prosser Mayor Gary Vegar said in an interview on Tuesday that former City Administrator Tom Glover was relieved from the position to bring in a new administrator that better meets the city’s needs.
Vegar says this was part of a review of departments the mayor started after being sworn in in January.
Vegar says Glover was informed of the decision on Monday, however was warned in January to check his contract’s separation clause as the process was in the works.
The mayor says he and his team are reviewing different models to determine how to move forward.

The City of Prosser announced on Mon., Feb. 26 that City Administrator Tom Glover’s employment with the City is separated immediately, according to a press release.
Mayor Gary Vegar elected to separate Glover’s employment on Mon., Feb. 26 without cause.
Public Information Officer Rachel Shaw says that the separation of employment has no relation to former Prosser Police Chief Jay King’s resignation from Fri., Feb. 23.
