YAKIMA, Wash.-Three Yakima Transit bus routes will be impacted during Phase 3 of the N. 1st St. Revitalization Project.
According to a City of Yakima social media post, detours will be in place on N. 1st St. from Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd. to I St., throughout the project’s expected completion date in the fall.
Yakima Transit detours:
Route 7: After leaving the Transit Center, the route will turn right on Walnut St. and then right on 4th and then right on Chestnut Ave. Then left on 6th St. and then left on Lincoln Ave. Then right on 2nd before turning left onto I St. and resuming its normal route.Route 8: Bus will head south on 1st St. then take a right on I St. before making a left onto Front St. Will then turn left onto D St. before turning right on 2nd St. and then left on MLK Blvd to resume its normal route.Route 9: Bus will travel east on I St. then turn right on Front St. and then left on Yakima Ave. Will then turn right on 1st St. to resume its normal route.
According to the City of Yakima, riders will need to use flag stops, meaning riders will need to signal the bus driver that they want them to stop, on 2nd St. Flag stops must also be used on Front St. on Routes 8 and 9.
